A public meeting to discuss current and future issues about the Thames will take place at the London Rowing Club, Putney, on Tuesday 7 February 2012, at 6.30pm. The meeting will give local people an opportunity to put questions direct to senior staff from the Port of London Authority (PLA), and will be chaired by Richard Everitt.

Richard Everitt said:
“Anyone interested in the tidal Thames now and in the future is very welcome at the meeting. From safety matters and use of the River for leisure , recreation and tourism through to commercial port and river operations, this will be an opportunity to raise any concerns or queries; and to discuss our work."

The Port of London Authority (PLA) is responsible for river safety and related matters on 150km (95 miles) of the tidal Thames from Teddington in west London through central London and out to the Thames estuary

The meeting is free and open to anyone interested in the work and activities of the PLA and related issues, on, or by, the Thames.
