South London Day Limmud is a unique and exciting event which will take place on Sunday, 12 March, 2006 at Southlands College, in partnership with Roehampton University.

Two days before the Jewish Festival of Purim, this day of learning and fun will be the most festive all-day Purim extravaganza South London has ever seen. There will be presentations, performances, workshops and discussions for adults, children and teens with many choices at each time slot. Highlights include Jewish humour from the Edinburgh fringe, performances by world-class klezmer musicians "Voi Duo" from Oi Va Voi, a puppet show from Pomegranate Puppets and opportunities to try out dance, drumming and
Hebrew calligraphy. There will also be text study plus panels on human rights, interfaith issues, Faith Education and Israel and the media. Cost includes kosher lunch, craft fair and Middle Eastern style party at the end of the day with food, music and festivities. More than 600 people are expected and we will be erecting a sumptuous Arabian tent in the college grounds. You don’t have to be Jewish to attend!

The Limmud organisation runs Jewish educational conferences primarily for the Anglo-Jewish community, which include lectures, text study, experiential and performance sessions.  One-day events are held throughout the UK and this will be our third in southwest London.  Participants are of all ages and represent a wide range of views within the Jewish community and outside of it.
