A residents in Coalecroft Road have received unexpected call from an 'employee of Dynarod' informing them that there was a sewage problem in a house in Campion Road. The caller said the pipes to be cleared came directly under the Coalecroft Road back gardens and the strong water pressure used could damage their property and flood their home with sewage.

The resident told this website: "However he said this risk could be avoided by the hire and installation of some machinery in our back garden for 24 hours. To do this, we would have to pay a cash deposit of £1000 to guarantee its security. The sum would be repaid next day".

The resident checked with Thames Water, who confirmed that there is no connection between the sewers in the house in Campion Road and her house in Coalecroft Road. On further research they discovered that this scam has been running for some years - on Action Fraud's facebook page there are references to it as far back as 2010. Dynarod has issued a warning and is in no way involved.

Citizens Advice tell people to report a scam as you might be able to stop others from being scammed if you report a scam. There advice is to report it to both the Citizens Advice Consumer Service first and Action Fraud - or Royal Mail if you’ve been scammed by post.
