In an isolated house, three people seek refuge from the birds that have suddenly started to attack. With no electricity and little food, a growing sense of fear and paranoia creates an internal power struggle every bit as dangerous as the threat from the world outside.

The film of The Birds was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock after reading Daphne Du Maurier's 1952 short story of the same name. In 2009 it was adapted for the stage by Conor McPherson.

When The Birds premiered in Dublin the Irish Times raved:
"McPherson keeps us on the edge of our seat" and the Irish Independent hailed the play as "deliciously chilling" and "spring-loaded with tension," adding: "Don't miss this chilling psychological portrait of fear and alienation."

Director Jeff Graves is thrilled to be directing this particular production in the studio theatre. He said:
"By setting this play in such an intimate venue, I hope to create a claustrophobic atmosphere and the feeling amongst the audience that they are very much trapped along with the characters of the play. The Birds is a very unsettling and moving look at human relationships."

Jeff is making his directing debut with PTC, previously directing numerous productions with the Carlton Dramatic Society in Wimbledon
