Putney Arts Theatre Hosts UK Premiere Of 'The Birds' | ||||
Adaptation by Conor McPherson based on the short story by Daphne DuMaurier
In an isolated house, three people seek refuge from the birds that have suddenly started to attack. With no electricity and little food, a growing sense of fear and paranoia creates an internal power struggle every bit as dangerous as the threat from the world outside. The film of The Birds was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock after reading Daphne Du Maurier's 1952 short story of the same name. In 2009 it was adapted for the stage by Conor McPherson. Director Jeff Graves is thrilled to be directing this particular production in the studio theatre. He said: Jeff is making his directing debut with PTC, previously directing numerous productions with the Carlton Dramatic Society in Wimbledon This play contains strong language August 28, 2013 |
