Drug dealing crack downThe team have been very successful over the last month, several potential drug deals have been prevented and general disruption has been a constant to these offenders. Intelligence lead search warrants have been executed at drug dealing premises resulting in many arrests and a Cannabis factory was successfully found and closed down resulting in £20,000 worth of cannabis being stopped from reaching the streets. Drug dealing is still a West Hill Ward Priority and the team remain dedicated to working with our partners and residents to stop dealing in the West Hill area.
On a lighter noteThe team have been meeting and greeting lots of community groups recently from giving crime prevention advise to the elderly to attending the over 50’s club and luncheon at St. Paul’s Church on Inner Park Road. We will next be at the Fun day at St. Paul’s church on Saturday 24 th May and hope to see some of you there. If you know of an event or place you feel would be beneficial of us attending please call us or email us an invite on the contact details below and if it is possible we will be happy to come along, this could be anything form talking to children at a nursery to just meeting and greeting our residents at an event.

Anti-social behaviourAnti-social Behaviour is still also a West Hill Ward priority and the team are ever aware of the disruption to the enjoyment of every day life this can cause to our residents. We are still aware of the school children being problematic in the Wimbledon Park Road and Southfields tube area and we will be there to keep an eye on them whenever our shift pattern allows us but please be reminded that we do work a variable shift pattern and Safer neighbourhoods is not a 24 hour service, if you do need police in an emergency always dial 999. We have noticed that with our constant patrols in the area and the addition of a mosquito box, these school children are moving off home more quickly and are now usually gone from the area within an hour. Obviously there will always be some congestion in the area on school day end times as it is a transport hub area and not all the children can fit on the buses in one go so some consideration should be given to that point. With regards to our other school, John Paul II, we have been working together with our borough Safer Transport team who have been riding the buses from West Hill right up to Clapham junction to reduce antisocial Behaviour on the buses. In other area’s of the ward we are aware of some small gangs loitering around and whenever possible we are engaging with these youths and discouraging their presence in areas which cause discomfort to our residents, we remind you not to confront these gangs yourselves but if they are causing distress to you call police to deal with the matter. We have also received some useful information regarding the supply of alcohol to under aged youths, which will be looked into, and whenever we come across under aged youths drinking we immediately confiscate and dispose of the alcohol and make a thorough report of the individuals concerned. Anti-social Behaviour will not be tolerated by the West Hill team and any youth who comes to notice will be stopped and asked to account for their actions, a letter about their behaviour could be sent to their parents and right at the top end of the scale, if they persist, evidence will be gather to issue them with Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO). |
TO PROTECT IT…REGISTER IT!! www.immobilise.com
Please ensure that you have registered all your serial numbers on the Immobilise website, this includes your mobile phone IMEI number; which you can obtain by dialling *#06#
When you register your property details are entered into the Immobilise database. This information is then available to all UK police officers who regularly search
the database when property is recovered. So, if property is lost or stolen
anywhere within the UK and located by police, or any of the lost property
services, you will have your property returned to you!
Pedal Cycle Thefts Unfortunately there has been an increase in the theft of bicycles on the ward and so we would like to remind everyone to keep them securely locked when unattended. You can also register your cycles frame number on the above immobilise website, this number is found on the under side of the frame where the pedals are. |
GraffitiWe understand that this is also a problem on West hill and can cause an unpleasant atmosphere, but you don’t have to wait to see us to get this removed you can contact the Graffiti the Removal Hotline at anytime on: 0208 871 7049 And remember if you see anyone committing this offence contact police immediately or crime stoppers anonymously. |
Motor Vehicle Crime
Wandsworth is currently experiencing an increase in motor vehicle crime. We are asking for your help to combat this problem, by asking you to ensure that you leave nothing on show in your vehicle. This includes satellite navigation systems and cradles, mobile phones, computers, cash and other valuables. We would also ask that when your vehicle is left unattended, no matter for how short a time, it is locked and secured.
Car crime can be distressing and annoying as it can cause a lot of inconvenience – you could without a car for weeks, waiting for the garage to make repairs or for your insurer to pay. That’s why the security features of your car should be as important as any other feature.
A lot of vehicle crime results from criminals seeing opportunities and taking them. You can easily outsmart the car thief by following the simple advice given below:
