On Tuesday (12 June) the olice were called to a report of a man in the river near to Putney Bridge.

The emergency services - including the Coastguard and RNLI - pulled the man from the water and provided emergency first aid on site.

The man who is believed to be aged in his forties - was taken by ambulance to a west London hospital where his condition is critical.

One local resident told PutneySW15.com, "Part of Putney Wharf was sealed off and there were about four fire engines, three ambulances and two or three police cars".
