PUTNEY'S MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT TONY COLMAN

In the first of what is planned to become a regular series Tony Colman M.P. gives an update on current developments in constituency matters

This is my first contribution for www.PutneySW15.com and I am very pleased to have the chance to communicate more widely with my constituents.

Contact me

I thought that I would start the ball rolling with some contact details for myself and my office - I receive about 100 letters a day, and about 25 e-mails (although this total goes up every week), and see many people at my four surgeries each month. What people contact me about varies enormously, but I try to respond as best I can, whether it is a housing problem in Roehampton or a query about the government's education policies.

Tony Colman MP

If you want to write to me, please e-mail colmant@parliament.uk, or Tony Colman MP, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA. I have a small website hosted by www.epolitix.com - if you log on, click on 'webminster', and then search for Putney.

To check if I am your MP, please log on to www.locata.co.uk/commons and enter your full postcode.

I am setting up a website at the moment, and will publicise it as widely as possible in the next few months. I am actively looking for a company to help me set it up, host, maintain and update it, so if you know of someone, please do let me know.

Local Issues

Aviation Issues: As this article goes to press, I am about to have a meeting with the Aviation Minister to discuss the issue to flight paths over parts of Putney. I hope to be able to report back in detail in my next contribution, but this is one part of a much larger topic that I spend a lot of time working on. Night flights have long been an issue that I have campaigned on, together with many local residents - the recent victory in the European Court of Human Rights is only the latest battle in the war.

Putney Crown Post Office: I have received much correspondence about the franchising of the Post Office in Putney, and have recently secured a debate in Parliament. Following this debate, I have tabled an EDM (Early Day Motion) and am asking the National Audit Office to investigate the deal.

If you would like any more information on these 2 key issues, or any of the other hundreds of local concerns that I have tried to help with since 1997, please do contact me. Equally if there is something you would like to know my views on, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Parliament

You can find out what questions I have asked, and the answers, when I have spoken in debates, and what motions I have signed on www.parliament.uk. Do e-mail me if you want to know more.

I hope that you will contact me if you need any further information.
