In a change form the traditional macho look, the team building London’s super sewer swapped their headgear for a pink number to raise money for Breast Cancer Care today.

More than 150 Members of the Tideway construction team in West London donned pink hard hats for the cause, expecting to raise at least £1,000.

Sally Cox, Tideway’s Project Director for the western construction sites, said: “Breast Cancer affects both men and women at any age and this fantastic organisation could not provide the valuable services it does without the contributions made from fundraising events. The response from the team to support today has been tremendous with all our sites eager to take part.”

The pink hard hats were donated by Greenhams for the site team to purchase via a donation to the charity. The western construction sites of the Thames Tideway Tunnel are being delivered by a joint venture of BAM Nuttall, Morgan Sindall and Balfour Beatty.
