Two-year-old Trigger has been through a lot in his short life - he was found dumped with a severely fractured leg and spent seven months at the RSPCA hospital in Putney. He has now recovered - but sadly had to have his front left leg amputated - and is finally ready to find his forever home.

RSPCA staff couldn’t help but fall in love with the poorly pooch while they helped rehabilitate him after he came into their care in November last year.

He could often be seen helping out behind reception and he was such a hit he has carried on his career at Leybourne animal centre where he is currently staying. Animal care assistant at Leybourne Claire Yorke said: “We have all fallen head over heels for Trigger, he is such a character. He often joins us out on reception as he is such good company and loves spending time with people - his filing isn’t bad either!

“He’s got a lovely nature as well and is very calm - he loves to sit and watch the world go by. He’s also great at travelling in vehicles and he does have a playful side too. Unfortunately since he has been with us he has been overlooked time and again while his kennel mates have found new homes, we can’t understand why - there must be someone out there who can offer him a loving home.”

It is thought Trigger would be best to be the only dog in the home while he continues to recover and would be best suited to an adult only home.
