Footage has recently emerged of an incident in Putney from last year which resulted in a man being fined and made subject to a curfew after subjecting a cyclist to a torrent of verbal abuse.

Scott Leaver pleaded guilty at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court to common assault and public order offences and was sentenced to a three-month 8am-8pm curfew and fined £85.

The video above shows in incident which took place near East Putney tube station in August 2016 and was posted on YouTube by the victim 'MikeR'. Whilst attempting to overtake a stationary bus on the Upper Richmond Road, he became aware of a vehicle also overtaking and swerved left behind the bus to avoid being trapped between the two.

As he passed stationary traffic beyond East Putney tube station, he stopped by the 4x4 and told the driver that his driving was dangerous and had been filmed. Leaver pulled over and verbally abused the cyclist whilst trying to remove the camera, parting with the threat: "Get in front of me again, I'll run you straight over".
