There was significant traffic disruption in the Roehampton area this Thursday evening (1 November) due to two incidents along the A3.

In the evening one land of the A3 southbound between Roehampton Lane and Stag Lane had to be closed after a water main burst. This caused subsidence on the road and resulted in queues back to Tibbet’s Underpass and Tibbet’s Corner Roundabout. Traffic tailed back from Roehampton Lane southbound onto the Upper Richmond Road leading to significant disruption on bus routes in the area.

Earlier that day follow a burst of short but intense rainfall the Tibbet’s Underpass had to be shut westbound but traffic conditions returned to normal before the later incident.

Thames Water are not currently reporting any ongoing work on this section of the A3 and similar traffic jams are not anticipated.
