Zac Goldsmith, the Conservative London Mayoral candidate visited Putney station yesterday and met local Putney residents. He expressed his support for the ongoing campaign to open a second station entrance from the Oxford Road end of the station.

He also would, if elected Mayor, be pushing for a quicker completion of the ongoing renovation work at the station which had over 11m passenger entries and exits last year and it is one of the busiest stations on the south-east rail network.

David Dean, the Conservative candidate for the GLA Assembly seat of Merton and Wandsworth accompanied Zac and also actively supports the speeding up of the completion of the modernisation works at Putney station.

Both the Mayoral and GLA Assembly elections will take place on Thursday 5th May 2015.
