Reminiscent of the First World War Christmas Truce, the four political candidates for Putney joined forces with 21 local volunteers from Putney Tidy Towpath (PTT) to fight the issue of non organic litter on the foreshore and towpath in the area.

The four candidates engaged with the volunteers as the collected litter. Co-founder of PTT, Paul Benton told this website: "We were very pleased to welcome all four candidates and it gave our volunteers the opportunity to meet and quiz each of the candidates in regards to their policies and especially their stance on the environmental. Each of the candidates reported that they found the experience insightful and personally rewarding."
