DC Leisure, which manages the centres on behalf of the council, will be carrying out a £400,000 refurbishment of Putney Leisure Centre including new gym equipment and a new changing room for Kinetika all-inclusive members, due to open on September 21.

Improvement will focus on the centres' Kinetika gyms and will include new cardio-vascular machines, V-Plates pro vibration machines, TRX total resistance exercise equipment, Techno Gym indoor cycling bikes, as well as flooring and redecoration. The work will be funded by DC Leisure.

Dave Jolliffe, Contract Manager for Wandsworth Leisure Centres said: "We are delighted to announce our refurbishment plans and we are hopeful that these improvements will help to promote our aim of getting more people, more active, more often within our community."

Wandsworth Council's cabinet member for environment & culture, Councillor Jonathan Cook, said:
"Our partnership with DC Leisure means the people of Wandsworth have access to first-rate leisure centres. These improvements will help ensure facilities will be even better in the future for all members of the community."
