The mystery of the sealed post boxes part 2.

Post Boxes in Roehampton have suffered the same mysterious "ailment" as those in West Putney in May - they have been sealed forcing residents to find alternative locations.

Once again there are no notices informing residents why or when "normal service will resume", and once again it is for the same reason as last time... the keys have been stolen and new locks must be ordered to replaec them; this could take another week.

It appears that the keys were stolen on Tuesday afternoon by children and the boxes were emptied and then sealed by the Post Office to prevent theft. John Hammond the manager of Putney sorting office explained that explainatory notices were not placed on boxes as a matter of routine. Perhaps they should be as a matter of courtesy?
