Rafal Dormarczuk discovered in woodland in Banstead

A body has been found in the search for a missing man from Barnes.

The body was discovered in Banstead woodland at around midday Sunday (1 November).

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, the body is believed to be that of Rafal Dormarczuk, 40, who was reported missing on Saturday. His next of kin has been informed.

The Surrey Police thanked members of the public, the media and the volunteers from Surrey Search and Rescue who helped with the search for their assistance.

A Surrey Police Spokesperson, said: "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with Rafal's family at this extremely difficult time.”

The death is being treated as unexplained but there is not believed to be any third party involvement and a file will be prepared and passed to the coroner in due course.
