A family in Putney have lost all their possessions after a fire ripped through their home last Friday night (11 March).

The blaze took hold in the ground floor of a house converted into flats shortly before 11.10pm and spread to the first floor.

Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters attended the incident, including crews from Wandsworth, Fulham, Chelsea, Hammersmith, Battersea, Richmond, Tooting and Heston, and it took two hours to get the fire under control.

There were no reports of any injuries but the ground floor flat was gutted and the first floor flat damaged.

The residents of the ground floor flats were Davide and Joanna with their two children aged 2 and 5. All their possessions were destroyed in the fire.

Neighbours took them in on the night of the fire and now a GoFundMe page has been set up for anyone who would like to give them some financial support.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
