At the Leisure Industry Week in Birmingham the children's edutainment centre "Eddie Catz" scooped another award - the Play Provider's Association's "2008 Aspire" award for the UK's "Best Family Entertainment Centre Under 12,000 sq ft" in front of an audience of the 100 top operators in the UK.

Eddie Catz was founded by entrepreneuring London parents Maria and Darren Johnson who wanted to create a space that was more than just a playcentre. Eddie Catz now has two southwest London venues offering fun playframes, games, classes, events, and chill out areas for grown-ups.

The Eddie Catz concept was thought up over 3 years ago and continues to be a forerunner in the industry for it's uniqueness and excellence in customer service. It also prides itself on partnerting with top pre-school class providers and entertainers and now hosts a full curriculum of enrichment and "mother-and-me" classes between its sites for children 0-10.

The Play Provider's Association's (PPA) is a trade association launched under the umbrella of Federation of Sports and Play Associations which aims to promote, develop and protect the interests of all businesses engaged in providing enclosed play facilities in the UK and counts among its members all the industry's top playcentres.

The PPA and its members are keen to promote the benefits of play which have been proven by research and go a long way to combating the threat of obesity in today's modern society. Family Entertainments Centres offer a safe and secure environment for children to develop socially, emotionally and physically.
Eddie Catz has taken this a step further by incorporating a strong educational element for pre-schoolers and opportunities for creative play.
