A man has been charged with the murder of his wife after her body was found at an address in Balham on Monday (12 November).

66-year-old Naseer Khan, of Lavenham road in Southfields, has been charged today with killing 62-year-old Tanseen Sheikh of Balham Park Road.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court later today.

Police were called at about 11.40pm on Monday to reports of a woman having died at an address on Balham Park Road. She was confirmed dead at the scene

A post-mortem examination at St George’s hospital yesterday gave the cause of death as 'multiple injuries'.

Khan was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and while formal identification awaits, officers are confident that the deceased is 62-year-old Tanseen Sheikh.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
