Officers from the Royal Parks Operational Command Unit will be ticketing cars parked in the Royal Parks in the run up to Christmas with crime prevention leaflets.

Running from Monday 6th December 2004 until mid-January 2005 officers and PCSOs will be chatting to drivers as they leave their cars in a bid to raise awareness of crime prevention tips and stop them from becoming a victim of crime.

Superintendent Derek Pollack from the Royal Parks Operational Command Unit said:

"Car parks in the Royal Parks are very popular with Christmas shoppers. We will be out and about to make sure that Christmas doesn’t come early for any opportunist thieves........Bundles of presents or bags of shopping left in clear sight in any parked car may be too much for a criminal to resist.”
