A 42-year-old man is to appear in court later this week facing charges relating to his jury service.

Sadiq Leon is alleged to have researched cases he was tasked with making a decision on by looking up information related to the legal meaning of the word ‘intention’. The prosecutor further contends that he shared this information with his fellow jurors distributing a print-out of what he had found..

Mr Leon was serving on a jury at a criminal trial at the Inner London Crown Court in July 2021. He was charged with two offences under the Juries Act 1974 in December of last year.

He will be attending the same court this Friday (27 January) to enter a plea.
