A man and a woman are facing charges in connection with the death of a 15-month-old child in Putney in 2019.

Jacob Lennon was found in cardiac arrest at a residential property in the area early in the morning of 27 August 2019. Paramedics called the police after becoming concerned about the nature of the toddler's injuries.

Jacob was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead at 7.22am. A post mortem found the cause of death was a head injury.

A man and a woman who were arrested on suspicion of murder soon after the death were released on bail.

This Thursday (2 December) 31-year-old Jake Drummond, of no fixed address, was charged with murder and Section 18 wounding with intent. The same day, 31-year-old Louise Jane Lennon, of Ingrave Street, Wandsworth, was charged with neglect of a child and causing/allowing the death of a child.

Drummond was remanded in custody to appear before Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 3 December. Lennon was bailed to appear before the same court on the same date.
