Woman fights off attacker who threatened her with a knife

Police are investigating a linked series of assaults happening late at night on both the Putney side of Putney Common and on the Richmond side.

In one of the attacks, at 11.30pm on 5th May a female was threatened with a knife, but she bravely fought off her attacker, and managed to get away to her home address which was nearby. The female was visited by officers and was uninjured.

The male responsible is described as white, between 18-25 years old, 5'9 tall wearing dark clothing.

There have been additional patrols put on for several nights last week. There have been no further reported incidents since 5th May.

Wandsworth and Richmond CID are working together to investigate these disturbing attacks. Suspect or suspects remain outstanding. Anyone with any information should call '101' and ask for Wandsworth CID.
