Stabbed to death in the Tapestry on Lower Richmond Road

Police have started a murder investigation after a 49 year old man was stabbed last night (23rd April) in a Mortlake pub.

The emergency services were called to the Tapestry on Lower Richmond Road just before 9pm.

The victim was taken to St George's Hospital but died of his wounds in the early hours of this morning.

A 36 year old man from Clapham was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. He currently remains in custody.

Detectives from the Homicide & Major Crime Command are investigating and incident room has opened at Putney.
