On Tuesday 19th October 2010 two males went to the home address of a 78 year old woman living in the Putney area and offered to do some gardening work for her. She declined this offer.

They then chipped away at the mortar between her bricks and told her that some of this needed replacing. They offered to skim and paint this for £250. Then they told her that her guttering needed replacing and told her that they could do the work for £3500.

She told them that she could not afford this, however a third male arrived and started doing the work. The other two males continued to speak to her.

One was particularly charming and the other more aggressive. She became more and more confused, however continued to protest that she did not have the money for the work.
Eventually they left the woman, saying they would be back in the morning for their money.
Fortunately the woman went to the police, who were there when the males came to her house the next morning.

Two males were arrested and charged with offences of Fraud and Criminal Damage, they were using a white van with a caged back, which had some gardening tools in it. Prior to committing this offence, they were handing out flyers in the area saying "Premier Fencing & Gardening Services by John Gregory"
