On Staurday 9th December between 18.40 and 18.45 hrs a fifteen year old girl was was withdrawing money from the cash point located on the concourse of the Putney Bridge station. She with three other friends.

The suspect approached and grabbed her purse and tried to take it, there was a struggle and eventually the suspect let go. The victim took her mobile phone out, intending to call police, but the suspect grabbed the phone and tried to take it from her. Again, there was a struggle and suspect let go.

The suspect then approached another female passer by and grabbed her bag, the female managed to fend him off. He then walked down an alley way and the victim and her friends followed him. He then walked back and entered the station whereupon the victim pointed him out to members of staff who detained him.

A 25-year-old man was subsequently arrested and is now helping police with their enquiries.
