The company have confirmed that The Beer Boutique has entered into a Creditors' Voluntary Liquidation, as a consequence of which all 3 stores, in Putney, Wandsworth and Tunbridge Wells, have closed down with immediate effect.

The shop has been a feature of East Putney since 2011. A spokesperson for the company said, 'We have made this heart-breaking decision following several months of difficult trading conditions in which we have been unable to improve the fortunes of the business to a level that could allow us to continue trading. As you will be aware, the high street is a difficult place to be right now. As much as we tried to offer something a bit different for customers, be that a huge range of interesting beers, free tasting events or just a nice place to hang out with friends, we are not immune to the cocktail of high rent and rates, lower consumer confidence thanks to Brexit uncertainty, not to mention aggressive price discounting on craft beer in almost all supermarkets.'

He continued, 'It's a very sad day but we'd like to thank all of our valued customers for your support of the business over the past 7 years and we wish you well as you continue on your craft beer journey'.
