Ark Putney Sixth Form student Hyunji Kim is celebrating a double victory in Golf following a win at National County Finals as a Surrey team member in September, and named for England U16 team in match verses Ireland 9-10 October.

During the National County Finals, Team Surrey – including Hyunji Kim – competed against five counties: Buckinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Somerset and Hertfordshire. Each day consisted of two matches against two counties. The format of each match was two foursomes matches (2vs2) and 3 singles matches (1vs1). After 3 tough days, Surrey was the only county to have won all its matches, which led to its first victory in 24 years.

‘I was pleased to have contributed 4 out of 5 points for Team Surrey, and I am truly honoured to represent England in the under16 match in October” says Hyunji.

Principal Alison Downey says, ‘We are all really proud of Hyunji and all she has accomplished so far. We will be rooting for her in the match against Ireland – she has a huge amount of potential and the fact that she has been picked up by the England team really proves this. She truly is one to watch’.
