Record Breaking A level Success For Ark Putney Academy

Staff and students celebrate as 50% of students achieved at least three A levels A*-C

Ark Putney Academy is celebrating its outstanding A level results, as the number of students achieving top grades rose yet again.

The number of students achieving at least three A levels A*-C was at a record 50% * - the highest percentage achieved in the history of the school.

Ark Putney Academy student, Khalid Said who achieved an A* in Maths, an A in Further Maths and an A in Biology is set to take up a place studying Economics at UCL. “I am delighted with the results – the teaching and support from the school has really pushed me to exceed even my own expectations”.



Student Mohammed Rajani, above, achieved A*A*A in Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths and is studying Chemistry at Oxford. “I am so excited to be going to Oxford – this is a long term dream realised – and I have my teachers at Ark Putney to thank for it, they have been amazing.”

Maths, Biology and Chemistry student Kenneth Barba achieved an outstanding AAB grade and will also be taking up a place at another top 10 ranking university – studying Electronic Engineering at Kings College London. “My time here has been so valuable – the culture is so inclusive and has really helped my personal development”.


Khalid Said is off to study economics at University College London.

Ark Putney Academy also saw an increase in sixth formers winning places on highly competitive degree apprenticeship programmes. Business student Renni James achieved a D*DD and will join top contracting firm MACE as a Project Manager in September. “The careers programme at Ark Putney taught me to grab opportunities with both hands and how to really self myself and my capabilities. I knew the traditional Uni route wasn’t for me but thanks to Ark Putney I am on one of the most competitive degree apprenticeship programmes in the country”.

Ark Putney Academy are dedicated to adding value. Sports and Psychology student Hanaa Abdi averaged B grades at GCSE when she joined the sixth form in Year 12. She is now celebrating a D*DD result in her extended diploma - equivalent to A*AA at A Level. “It’s my dream to be successful in the field of Sports Psychology and to inspire young Muslim women. I want them to see that this is a lucrative and rewarding pathway”

The dedication and drive from our students’ and teachers’ has been second to none and we see that on results day, this has really paid off. It is our mission to prepare students for life after Ark Putney Academy, and in our sixth form we see high calibre students going on to top ranking universities and employers – all with incredibly bright futures ahead.
