Putney author Simon Acland has had two of his books shortlisted simultaneously for The People’s Book Prize. His First Crusade Holy Grail novel, The Waste Land, is one of nine books selected in the fiction category, and his venture capital guide for entrepreneurs, Angels, Dragons and Vultures, is one of seven chosen in non-fiction.

Winners are chosen by the public voting on-line. You can vote by visiting www.peoplesbookprize.com/

Simon said:
“I am immensely flattered to have two books shortlisted in different categories of the prize. It would mean even more to win and I would be very grateful to anyone who supports me with their votes.”

Simon turned to writing when the venture capital investment business of which he was part was sold in 2007. He can occasionally be seen in Putney signing his books in Crusader fancy dress. Maybe, if he wins the prize, he will be able to stop sinking so low to promote his work!
