The man who fell to his death from the scaffold of a Putney building site on Monday has been named as Justinas Kopickas, a 42-year-old Lithuanian carpenter who had been living in the UK for more than 10 years.

Health & Safety Executive officials are investigating what caused the man to fall from the eight-storey Carlton Tower building – an office block on Upper Richmond Road that is being converted into plush apartments as part of St James’ Langham Square Development. They are preparing a report for the coroner.

Two other workers were injured when Mr Kopickas landed on them.
