The results of the Wimbledon & Putney Commons Conservators’ election have been received from the Electoral Reform Services for the election of Conservators for Wimbledon and Putney Commons.

The following five candidates were elected:

Diana de Coverly Veale
David Devons
John Horrocks
Norman Plastow MBE
Andrew Simon

David Devons , John Horrocks and Norman Plastow MBE have been Conservators for a number of years. Andrew Simon and Mrs Diana de Coverly Veale are new to the Board of Conservators and will replace Tony Drakeford and Mrs Elizabeth Witts who have both retired after many years of dedicated service to the Commons.

Gordon Vincent , the Conservators' Clerk & Ranger and Chief Executive commented  "All of the candidates standing for election were of a high calibre and care deeply for the Commons. Our congratulations to all the successful candidates and we look forward to welcoming the new Conservators to their first Board meeting in April.”

The election for Conservators is held every three years. There are eight Conservators, three of which are appointed by Government Departments and five are elected by the 63,000 levypayers living within ¾ mile of the Commons.
